![]() Ever since the start of the industrial age, the average temperature of the earth’s surface has been rising steadily. This increase in temperature is due to an accumulation in the atmosphere of carbon dioxide produced by human activity.
Over the course of the next century, this rise in temperature will become hard to ignore, and will affect the water cycle and climates around the globe. These upheavals are already occurring at a pace that is too fast to give ecosystems time to successfully adapt.
